  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, or as needed
  • 2 teaspoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ¼ cup sliced shallots
  • 1-pound boneless chicken thighs, coarsely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced chilies, or other hot pepper
  • 1 cup thin sliced fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cups hot cooked rice


  • Firstly, gather all the ingredients.
  • Secondly, whisk together chicken broth, oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, white sugar, brown sugar in a bowl and blend.
  • Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan. Add oil and chicken, stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir in shallots, garlic, and sliced chiles. Continue to cook until the juice starts to caramelize from the bottom of the pan, for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add sauce in the frying pan and cook for about 1 minute.
